Mr. Dewan Nurul Islam MBA, FCA

Chairman

Mr. Dewan Nurul Islam holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, where he also completed a specialized course in Financial Analysis with Distinction. With a career spanning several decades, he possesses extensive senior-level expertise in investment management, capital markets, and strategic corporate leadership both domestically and internationally. His impressive track record includes serving as Country Finance Manager for a global multinational and Finance Director for a leading Bangladeshi conglomerate. Furthermore, Mr. Dewan spent two years as a Senior Consultant for an Australian investment bank, where he specialized in enterprise funding, valuations, IPOs, and business acquisitions. A veteran of the financial sector, he has been a prominent figure in the Bangladesh capital market since 1990.

Mr. Dewan has spearheaded and successfully executed a significant number of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), capital-raising initiatives, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) across both the Australian and Bangladeshi capital markets. His leadership in corporate valuations and deal negotiations has been instrumental in navigating complex financial landscapes and driving organizational growth.

Mr. Dewan is a distinguished Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a prominent member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He has further served the profession with distinction as a former President of the Institute.

In recognition of his professional standing, Mr. Dewan was appointed as a Government-Nominated Director to the Board of Bangladesh Development Bank PLC (BDBL), following the strategic merger of Bangladesh Shilpa Bank (BSB) and Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Sangstha (BSRS).

He currently holds the position of Managing Director and CEO at Grant Thornton Consulting Bangladesh Ltd., a leading member of the world’s most respected global consultancy and professional services networks. 

Mr. Md. Kamrul Hassan, FCA

Director

Mr. Md. Kamrul Hassan, FCA, brings a distinguished professional career characterized by extensive senior-level corporate and financial management expertise. Currently serving as the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Transcom Group, he boasts a wealth of experience gained from working with reputable local conglomerates and multinational entities abroad. Mr. Hassan’s journey with Transcom began in 1994, where his consistent leadership across various financial functions led to his appointment as Executive Director (Finance) in 2008. Throughout his tenure, he has been a pivotal figure in the Group’s strategic growth, directly overseeing and orchestrating numerous high-value investment decisions and capital allocations.

Mr. Hassan also serves as a Director on the Boards of Transcom Limited and Global Appliance Ltd.—a strategic Joint Venture between Transcom Group and Whirlpool, USA. His expertise is further recognized through his active contribution as a Member of the Taxation & Tariff Committee at the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), where he plays a vital role in shaping industry-wide fiscal policies and trade frameworks.

Mr. Hassan’s professional background is enriched by his international experience, having spent over two years in Libya with the Daewoo Corporation, South Korea, in a core accounting capacity. Furthermore, he possesses extensive experience in the financial services sector, having served for 12 years as a Director on the Board of IDLC Finance PLC, the premier Non-Banking Financial Institution (NBFI) in Bangladesh. His decade-plus tenure on the IDLC Board underscores his deep expertise in corporate governance, risk management, and financial oversight at the highest level.

Mr. Hassan is a distinguished Senior Chartered Accountant and a Fellow Member (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). His long-standing membership in the Institute reflects his deep commitment to professional excellence and his high standing within the nation's accounting and finance fraternity.

Professor Serajul Hoque PhD

Independent Director

Professor Sherajul Hoque, PhD, is a distinguished scholar in Business, Economics, Investment, and Global Trade, currently serving as the Chairman of the Marketing Department at the University of Dhaka.

Dr. Hoque earned his PhD in Global Marketing from the University of Osnabrück, Germany, in 2003, under the prestigious DAAD Research Scholarship. His academic excellence is marked by securing First Class First positions in both his Bachelor’s (1988) and Master’s (1989) in Marketing from the University of Dhaka.

Beginning his professional career at the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) in 1989, Dr. Hoque transitioned to academia in 1990. He was promoted to Professor in 2005 and has since become a prolific researcher with numerous publications in finance and global trade. As a seasoned academic leader, he frequently participates in international seminars focusing on capital markets and global investment strategies.
