Mr. Dewan Nurul Islam MBA, FCA

Mr.
Dewan Nurul Islam holds an MBA in Finance
from the University of Technology
Sydney (UTS), Australia, where he also completed a specialized course in
Financial Analysis with Distinction.
With a career spanning several decades, he possesses extensive senior-level
expertise in investment management,
capital markets, and strategic corporate leadership both domestically
and internationally. His impressive track record includes serving as Country Finance Manager for a global
multinational and Finance Director
for a leading Bangladeshi conglomerate. Furthermore, Mr. Dewan spent two years
as a Senior Consultant for an
Australian investment bank, where he specialized in enterprise funding, valuations, IPOs, and
business acquisitions. A veteran of the financial sector, he has been a
prominent figure in the Bangladesh
capital market since 1990.
Mr.
Dewan has spearheaded and successfully
executed a significant number of Initial
Public Offerings (IPOs), capital-raising initiatives, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
across both the Australian and Bangladeshi capital markets. His leadership in corporate valuations and deal negotiations
has been instrumental in navigating complex financial landscapes and driving
organizational growth.
Mr.
Dewan is a distinguished Fellow
Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a prominent member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of
Bangladesh (ICAB). He has further served the profession with distinction
as a former President of the Institute.
In
recognition of his professional standing, Mr. Dewan was appointed as a Government-Nominated Director to the
Board of Bangladesh Development Bank
PLC (BDBL), following the strategic merger of Bangladesh Shilpa Bank
(BSB) and Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Sangstha (BSRS).
He
currently holds the position of Managing
Director and CEO at Grant Thornton Consulting Bangladesh Ltd., a leading
member of the world’s most respected global consultancy and professional
services networks.
